Newcastle Carbon Crush

Newcastle Carbon Crush, launched in January 2008, is a project that packages together our energy workshops with project planning sessions and support.

A group of community members from Newcastle under Lyme in Staffordshire have worked through our energy workshops, improving their understanding of climate change, peak oil, renewable energy and a range of ways to use less energy and fuel.

Following this, the group developed their own project plans through our project planning sessions for a solar powered irrigation system, collecting rainwater for a community organic vegetable garden. With support from Carbon Forum staff, their plans are being put into action at Apedale Country Park in Newcastle.
