HSBC and Eco Schools

During 2007, we worked with eco schools in Llangollen and Llanidloes, combining a series of school assemblies and workshops with practical
energy saving advice and assistance from Marches Energy Agency's Project Carbon team.

With guidance from Carbon Forum staff, pupils from these schools took part in ‘Mission Zero Carbon’. After the launch of the mission during school assembly, children got together in workshop sessions to share what they already know about energy saving and to find out more through games and class discussions. Small teams were formed according to 'energy islands’ laid out on the Mission Zero Carbon treasure map. Each team had an energy theme and was guided through the production of inspirational materials, letting the rest of the school know how they too can take part in the mission for zero carbon.
