Keep Shropshire Warm Partner Training
Although MEA is organised into five themes, each with its own particular focus, there are many occasions where a project calls for a collaborative approach that combines the skills and resources of two or more of the themes. A recent example of this is the ongoing work that Carbon Forum are doing on behalf of Action Heat's innovative Keep Shropshire Warm project.
Carbon Forum are promoting the Keep Shropshire Warm project to relevant groups of social and community workers who regularly work with vulnerable members of society; people who are likely to be experiencing the hardships of fuel poverty. Making these key workers across Shropshire aware of the KSW project and the help it offers to victims of fuel poverty enables them to refer households to KSW. It is also an effective and innovative way to overcome one of the great challenges of tackling fuel poverty in a rural county like Shropshire; bridging the communication and information ‘gap' between KSW and the vulnerable households who are often hard to reach and unaware of the help available to them.
