Light Fantastic - Market Drayton
Date:
28 Nov 2008 - 10:00 - 28 Nov 2008 - 17:00
Light Fantastic arrived in the fog for a suitably atmospheric Festival of Lights in Market Drayton. Despite the cold the event was very well attended with many stalls, a lantern parade by local schoolchildren and the switch on of the town's Christmas lights, while we kept warm with a thermos of tea, and for some a sample of the mulled wine on offer.
We were able to give away bulbs and powerdowns to a
significant percentage of the local population, which were very positively
received. A large number of people also inquired about the Keep Shropshire Warm
grants. Overall it was a true cross section of the local community as it is
seen as an important event in the town's calendar.
