A MARKETING campaign that provoked ‘car rage' among some of Britain's motoring writers by converting the iconic playground game Top Trumps to promote green vehicles is up for an award.

Climate change charity Marches Energy Agency isn't often listed alongside major car manufacturers, but it is competing with BMW and Citroen for the GreenFleet ‘Green Marketing Campaign of the Year'.

It's the monthly Green Drinks night, held at the Loggerheads on the first Wednesday of the month and back after a month off in January.....

October sees the first Green Drinks session to be held in the Loggerheads (one of the best pubs in Shrewsbury with a fine selection of guest beers). The Loggerheads is on Church Street, which is off St Mary's Street in Shrewsbury town centre. Focus on using energy efficiency at home.

Our Low Carbon Leadership work book has just arrived hot off the press. This was produced in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust and seeks to help all that use it to move from low carbon aspiration to planning practical action. With a spare hour here and there (and internet access), the book enables an elected member, officer, LSP partner or interested community member to understand and create a low carbon route map for their community.

The British Summer has been declared "substandard and inherently faulty" by the manufacturers. The Weather has issued a recall notice for Summer 2008, citing "manufacturing defects" that have resulted in inadequate sunlight and a severe excess of rainfall.

"We have to put our hands up and say it's been pretty shoddy," said a spokesman for The Weather. "Obviously we've had supply issues with certain key raw materials like sunshine and warmth, but yes, we could certainly have looked at how we allocated what we had."

Our Eco Vehicles Top Trumps game has been shortlisted for an award in the category of 'Green Campaign of the Year' at this year's Green Fleet awards. We're up against BWM, Citroen and the NICE car company. The award ceremony will take place on 25th September at Twickenham, we'll let you know how we get on!
