people still don't know nearly enough about human induced climate change

90% of people have a positive climate change attitude

We've been conducting surveys of attitudes to climate change before and after our events that we run. These include pub quizzes, presentations, cartoon exhibitions and film showings.

A brief summary of attitudes after the event:

  • More people are undertaking activities that they perceive as helping the environment
  • 90% believe that taking actions to change the world is important
  • 90% believe that working hard to improve the well being of others is important
  • 80% of people believe that everybody has the right to use natural resources according to their own demand.
  • Rather satisfyingly, 90% of people said they were aware of the things they could do to reduce their impact on the environment after the event. (We'd be a bit worried if this was much lower!)
  • 95% agreed that the effects of man-made climate change are already happening.
